Our Expertise

GMark's expertise includes but not limited to the following components of enterprise development:

Enterprise Development (ED):

Enterprise Development Approach (EDA) finds a way of sustainable poverty reduction through improvement of the market systems within which poor people must participate in economic activities and live. Since markets are the main means through which people participate in economic activities where markets operate in an inclusive manner serve the poor by offering them the means – jobs, opportunities, finance, and products – to increase their incomes. GMark, through EDA, demonstrates how to overcome market or government failures whilst working with a small target group and the incentives to make a profit that lead other businesses to copy the positive change on a massive scale.

Making Market Work for the Poor (M4P):

This very approach develops market systems to function more effectively, sustainably and beneficially for poor people; offering them the capacities and opportunities to improve their lives. M4P is the recent evolution of Value Chain Approach which is critically based on value chain analysis and focuses on strengthening service market to enhance service provision. GMark thus practices M4P that brings benefit for the poor within the market system and focuses on private sector development that relates with the benefit of the disadvantaged, poor/ultra-poor, women and youth.

Private Sector Development (PSD):

Private Sector Development (PSD) is a tactic for promoting economic growth and reducing poverty in developing countries by building private enterprises, membership organizations to represent them, and competitive markets that are stronger and more inclusive. Whether as subsistence farmers or entrepreneurs, most poor people already participate in markets. Strengthening these markets in ways that secure higher incomes for the poor following PSD is seen as a fair and efficient way to fight poverty. Earning a decent income in the private sector is also more dignifying than relying on hand-outs. Thus, enhancing capacity of the target groups through the private sector is one of the major focus areas that GMark deals with.

Agricultural Innovation & Development:

The agriculture sector is confronted with the increasing challenge of increasing production to feed a growing and increasingly prosperous population of Bangladesh. (3. B)

However, the growing demand for agricultural products offers opportunities for farmers to sustain and improve their livelihoods. In addition, awareness of up-to-date market information on prices of commodities, inputs and consumer trends can improve farmers' livelihoods substantially and have a dramatic impact on their negotiating position.

Based on the genuine situation, GMark develops creative, purposeful and effective development mechanism that turns the country's agricultural growth effectively and efficiently. Innovation is the heart of such development. We consider technology as a primary factor to increase farm's productivity predominantly in a developing country like Bangladesh. We work on identifying, developing and promoting the most effective agricultural technology to generate greater impact on the lives and livelihoods of the poor. Thus, GMark mechanizes different projects that affect smallholders' income, employment opportunities for the poor, food prices, environmental sustainability and linkages with the rest of the rural and national economy.
