Background

Agora, the first superstore chain in Bangladesh, has mega plans to expand the supermarket business in the next couple of years. In order to help the sustainability of the expansion plan, the company wishes to develop its mini, small and medium sized suppliers through this project. With facilitation from Business Innovation Facilities (BIF), GMark is carrying on this assignment in two phases.

Activities

1. Phase 1 – SME Interviews: GMark supported Rahimafrooz to develop the Capability Model as Detail Solution Design [DSD] and apply the Capability Model with 45 SME suppliers of perishable goods of the retail chain. This included interviewing the suppliers, identifying and validating capability gaps and potential solutions, and making initial recommendations for the supplier and the retail chain on how to improve.
2. Phase 2 – SME Training & Consulting: The activities in this phase include training material preparation, training delivery, one-to-one coaching session, offline support, consulting in general management and perishables handling, goal-setting and follow-ups.
Expected Result  
  45 SME suppliers will be developed in ten (10) capability areas in line with the standard and expansion of Agora retail chain.
