Background

USAID Horticulture Project CIP aim to increase the income and nutrition levels of 100,000 poor, marginal farmer households in Southern Bangladesh. As of March 2014, the project has trained 64,000 marginal farmers who have adopted various technologies for producing improved varieties of potato seed, orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP), and other vegetables. More than 60% of these farmers are women.

Specific objective are:

To understand the supply and demand trends of Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato at different markets
To know the market price of OFSP at different level of market actors
To discover strategies and interventions for promoting OFSP on wider scale and ways to access better market opportunities
