Background

Enterprise Development Programme (EDP) of Oxfam GB envisions to develop a model for supporting and investing in small (bigger than micro) rural enterprises in places financial institutions do not reach. As a result, the project developed Chili Traders’ Enterprise- Fulchari (CTE-f) in Fulchariupazilla, Gaibandha district of Bangladesh. In its first year of operation, the enterprise’s major product was raw dry chili. Now, CTE-f looks to expand its product line and see potential on powder chili market.

As mentor of the EDP, GMark Consulting Limited is set to conduct a market research on powder chili to see its market feasibility and develop a business strategy from the research findings to penetrate the market.

Specific objective are:

•	To identify potential market entry and strategy for CTE-f in powder chili market;
•	To assess business risks, mitigation strategy and market competition in powder chili market;
•	To develop viable business solution to introduce powder chili in the market;
•	To analyze financial requirements and resources for powder chili business.
•	The findings led to development of an effective business plan on powder chili for the target enterprise, CTE-f.
