3. Survey on Acid Violence Survivors for Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF)

Background

In the period 2010-2011, Acid Survivors Foundation (ASF) conducted a needs assessment survey of 1400 acid violence survivors in 21 districts through door to door visits. Also, in 2011 the social welfare department conducted a nationwide survey with the support of ASF which confirmed the existence of nearly 3000 acid violence survivors, although the information collected was not very comprehensive.
At present ASF wants to find out the actual situation of all the survivors’ to aid future planning process for advocacy and support.

Tasks

The main objective is to conduct a survey for updating the existing records and also for gaining greater insight into the needs of acid violence survivors. In doing so understanding where ASF and other actors have been able to meet the needs of acid violence survivors’ and where they have fallen short.
The scope of this assignment are limited within –
Objective 1: Finding out the present status of acid survivors.
Objective 2: Finding out the kind of support acid survivors has received from ASF and other actors since they were attacked.
Objective 3: Finding out the detailed and current needs of acid survivors’.
Objective 4: Updating ASF Management Information System (MIS) database with the new data.
